In today's addition of my quest to become a professional singer I responded to one of the many adds placed on craigslist . The person who placed the add was looking for background singers for some type of R and B Neo-soul band that I have never heard of. The band performs every weekend at a small bar called "Mingles" in Jack London Square. In the add he stated that he was looking for "sapranos for tight harmonies behind a tight lounge band" Okay so here is my first issue.....What exactly is a "saprano"? You would think that if he was looking for a soprano he would at least know how to spell it. Second question.....How many times can you use the word "tight" in one sentence? (and why would you ever want to!?) The fact that I still responded is a reminder of how desperate I actually am (although I am secretly hoping that they don't respond). I really need to start following my intuition so that I don't end up in so many strange situations. Anyway I've made it through another LLLLOOONNNG (50 HOUR) work week and its my Friday or your Tuesday. I really don't have any weekend plans besides a nice long hike around Lake Chabot and perhaps some shopping with Rama. (and of course OT at work) Thank God I have a job that offers so much overtime to support my horrible shopping habit.....Well as Tigger say TTFN.

I always get so excited about something new but once I get it, it looses its appeal. That seems to be the case with this blog. I decided as one of my new years resolution (that have almost all been broken) I would keep some type of record of my boring life. It is especially important now because I think I may have dispatching induced alzheimers as well as some mild form of narcolepsy (self diagnosed).....Anyway I am going to try really hard to update this at least 4 times a week. I think that's a reasonable goal. Perhaps if I reconnected my computer at home instead of only blogging at work it would help. Enough BS ummmmm lets seee......... Well the concert I went to on Tuesday was WONDERFUL!!!!! From the first note that came out of her mouth until the very last breath I was enchanted . I also realized (again) what I am suppose to be doing with my life. I really need to work towards reaching my musical goals. So what am I doing right now you ask.......... I just started taking guitar lessons from a new instructor. (My last teacher moved to Zhija... Mexico) I have decided to work on music theory with him Yuck!! But, I know I need to learn it if I want to be able to deal with all the music snobs I seem to be encountering lately. I am also contemplating trying out for a jazz band that is looking for background singers. I am going to call tomorrow so wish me luck!!! The rest of my weekend was pretty uneventful. I hung out with my aunt for a few hours in Pittsburgh then with Steve. Saw a movie (Baby's Daddy) that was ok I guess, and worked Thursday night. Oh yeah, I also started knitting a new sweater that I will probably never finish. That's about it for now. I guess that really wasn't so bad after all.

Wooo Hoo!! Its my Friday! For the rest of the world it's Monday but I guess that's the life of a dispatcher. (I work Friday night - Monday night 7pm-5am ugh!) So anyway that makes this my weekend. Vet and I are going to see Liz Wright at Yoshis tomorrow and I start guitar lesson again on Wednesday. (and I am SO looking forward to that). I am at work right now as usually hoping the time passes quickly. I never realized how boring my life is until I tried to write about it..... But ,I kinda like it that way. MTF...

Never ever ever ever go to Las Vegas during any of the following type of events....Pornography conventions, electronic conventions, or magician conventions (especially when they all occur at once). I had to find that out the hard way. Thanks to a freak snow storm in Portland Or (that I have since found out never happens unless I am coming to town)I missed four flights and seeing Chris Rock in concert, and learned why you should never stay in any hotel that advertises "The Beetles" as the last celebrity's to stay there. I wont go into depth but here are a few of the details....The flight to Portland was cancelled so we decided to go to Vegas. Upon arrival we found out (thanks to the conventions) all hotels were sold out except one at $500.00 a night and one at the alleged 2nd oldest hotel in Vegas "The Sahara." Needless to say we chose the latter. We spent a ridiculous amount of money on taxis with drivers that either had a death wish or were moonlighting as race car drivers, and I lost $300 more dollars than I had to spend. Problems aside it was actually a good trip thanks to great company. Well odd first post but I am tired of typing so talk to ya.....
